Chapter 9 - Rise of the Guardians 2

Pitch Black watched the immortal spirit fight Elvira.
He had to admit, Jack was pretty good at defense but he still had a lot to learn.
Pitch figured that if he could watch Jack and Elvira practice every day, he would learn how each of them fought, lean their skills and he would finally be free.
He could be free from Elvira's chains. His sister would no longer hold him in her grasp if he could just find a way to defeat her.
He watched as Jack flung himself at Elvira, trying to hit her with an icy staff but she saw it coming and deflected it.
Pitch knew that Elvira was stronger than him in every way but maybe, he could use Jack to his advantage. Yes, that was it! He would let Jack Frost learn from Elvira and all the while, Pitch would be turning him away from Elvira, Jamie, and the Guardians. And if Jack was loyal enough over time, they could eventually become partners.
Pitch hid the smile that was playing on his lips even though no one was paying attention to him.
As he watched, Pitch noticed that Elvira seemed to know very move that Jack had thrown at her, seconds before he attacked. He was mesmerized by this.
Although Elvira was his sister, he had only fought her once and she had won in three seconds flat. That's why he knew nothing about her.
Elvira was going easy on Jack. She used mostly defense moves, dodging and sometimes counter-attacking.
Pitch watched, already learning from both of them. Jack used the same moves and Elvira had a way to tell what moves her opponent would make.
Yes, this would be a good plan…
Pitch Black backed up into the shadows and blended with the darkness, and only his golden-black eyes showed that anything was there at all.
